They still have to sign the recruits it will be awhile before any rankings come out that mean anything.

Everyone loves to hate the BCS, but nobody seems to realize that the pre-season rankings are the stupidest thing that we could possibly have. They are based on nothing more than last season's games and pure speculation (i.e. "guessing"). Then they influence the first 2-3 weeks of the season, because those preseason rankings are taken as "etched in stone" by many of the poll voters. That's why there were so many "upsets" this year... because the preseason rankings were soooo far off. At least the BCS waits until several weeks of games have been played to issue their rankings. The polls might well do the same..... make the rankings reflect ACTUAL games, not guesswork.
