My personal feelings on the matter is that he's looking for an excuse to be a jerk. Seriously! I've known people who actually thought they were vampires, and others who claim they know aliens (oddly enough, disguised as regular people). In the end, these were just excuses to explain away their weird and pain in the butt behavior.

its theorized that during a full moon the gravity can do the same to your blood as it does to the tides. now if its true or not I'm not to sure, but if hes keeping track of the full moon you need to throw him off his game, it may be nothing more then a mental block and a obsession. or maybe its a funny joke to him, like getting back at the girls PMS, ya know like payback to show you what its like.

I think it sounds like he's using it as an excuse! I don't care what time of the month it is, he can't treat you badly. Tell him so next time! If I were you I would leave during the full moon -- go to friends, family, anywhere -- Tell him if that's how he's going to act he can be by himself!
