Should I continue with the same Crown Moulding?
We have an open dinig room and formal living room that currently have a standard crown moulding with about 5 inches of painted white wall and another small piece of moulding underneath that. I am wanting to add crown to the family room which is connected by open doorwayt from the dining room and a slightley larger opening going to a small landing then in to the sunken living room. Because the living room is sunken and the walls are taller I wanted to incorporate a larger crown moulding and was thiniing about not doing the extra trim piece and paint between. Will this look ok or should i jsut continue the crown and trim as it was done in the other rooms.

You have come up with a great idea!! This will look darling..and I'm sure you have enough good taste too get the colors right! There are books on moldings at home depot..in the home improvement dept. You might want to take a look and see if you see anything kind of like what you have in mind. It sounds like a great house....enjoy it!! ♥ p.s. lucky to have crown molding...it's sooo classy and classic!
