For all Religions. Why???
Why do you believe your bible to be the true word of God?
I personally don't believe in the bible so i guess i am just curiouse.
a spiritual person, no religion for me.
Ok Holy book. sorry what ever you call it in your religion.
A voice crying in the wilderness : I will be spending my eternity with God for he loves all and there is no Hell so i guess its impossible to go to some place that doesnt exist. I have found God without a holy book. I see him/her everyday and feel him/her everyday. I know where we are all going do you?
Johnny: I love your answer. my beliefs are very close to the Buddhist.
I would like to thank all who answered. I now know why you believe. I am glad that you have found God in one way or another. THat is all that matters. God Bless you all.

You've had some really good answers already - from several standpoints.
I like the Buddhist's answer! If you read something (the Bible or anything else) that accords with your inner sense of truth versus falsehood, then go with it - it cannot harm you and will almost certainly help you.
There is so much in the Bible that is delightfully commonsensical and beautifully expressed that it is worth reading for 'day to day' inspiration alone.
The Bible is great at pointing you directly to God - it is meant to help you to form a real relationship with him - e.g.
Isaiah 41 : 31 ... a great favourite of mine ...
"...those who trust in the Lord for help will find their strength renewed. They will rise on wings like eagles; they will run and not get weary; they will walk and not grow weak."
That's just a tiny snippet - it's a goldmine - dig deep and wide - and enjoy your exploration!
Try the 'Song of Songs', sometimes called 'The Song of Solomon' - a powerful love 'story' - amazing - how anyone could think that sex is in any way 'dirty' or 'bad' after reading that really beats me - but, of course, the killjoys haven't read it have they?
There's plenty of religious killjoys, as well as irreligious ones you know! "It's alright as long as you don't enjoy yourself, because then it becomes a sin" - you know the type?
A load of tosh - God gave us the capacity for extraordinary bliss and pleasure - what sort of creator would give us such capacities, in such abundance, and then punish us for daring to enjoy them? Not the one I love, that's for sure! He's a lot bigger-minded than that - THE ONE I LOVE!
Best wishes

[Just skip the boring stuff - dirty great long lists, dusty historical bits, etc., I always do - there's a heck of a lot of that -but you'll soon get the hang of it and find treasure - pearls beyond price!]

Because the more I study it the more I find it to be true. Once your saved you feel a peace that passes all understanding, you are finally at peace with yourself. The empty void that is in you fills up with the Holy Spirit and I hope your eyes open to this. The love of God is amazing and cannot be contained or described in simple words, I hope and pray that you experience this. Eternity is a long time...where are you spending yours? God Bless

Only Christianity believes in the Bible. Jews follow the Torah, Muslims follow the Quran. Christians believe the Bible to be the true Word of God because, upon salvation, we receive the holy Spirit which allows us to discern truth. The Bible is truth so we understand it in a way that a non-believer can never understand!

I believe there is more than one way to find God. While I personally believe Christianity is the one, true religion, I also believe there are people of other religions who have found God.

The Bible has foretold and continues to foretell prophecies that have come true.
It can be substantiated by secular literary works as to the times and works of certain people , including Jesus.
We Christians believe the Bible to be the true Word of God
You are entitled to believe as you wish.........hopefully you will come around to the "Light Side" some day!

The Bible was written over a 1,600-year period. Its writers lived at different times and came from many walks of life. Some were farmers, fishermen, and shepherds. Others were prophets, judges, and kings. The Gospel writer Luke was a doctor. Despite the varied backgrounds of its writers, the Bible is harmonious from beginning to end.
The first book of the Bible tells us how mankind’s problems began. The last book shows that the whole earth will become a paradise, or garden. All the material in the Bible covers thousands of years of history and relates in some way to the unfolding of God’s purpose. The harmony of the Bible is impressive, but that is what we would expect of a book from God.
The Bible is scientifically accurate. It even contains information that was far ahead of its time. For example, the book of Leviticus contained laws for ancient Israel on quarantine and hygiene when surrounding nations knew nothing about such matters. At a time when there were wrong ideas about the shape of the earth, the Bible referred to it as a circle, or sphere. (Isaiah 40:22) The Bible accurately said that the earth ‘hangs on nothing.’ (Job 26:7) Of course, the Bible is not a science textbook. But when it touches on scientific matters, it is accurate. Is this not what we would expect of a book from God?
The Bible is also historically accurate and reliable. Its accounts are specific. They include not only the names but also the ancestry of individuals. In contrast to secular historians, who often do not mention the defeats of their own people, Bible writers were honest, even recording their own failings and those of their nation. In the Bible book of Numbers, for instance, the writer Moses admits his own serious error for which he was severely reproved. (Numbers 20:2-12) Such honesty is rare in other historical accounts but is found in the Bible because it is a book from God.

My Bible is true and I know that for a fact because the Holy Spirit lives in me and when I study the Bible, God helps me to understand it fully. If it were not true, God would let me know that is not of Him....

The Bible has been verified by historical and archaological finds. Also by the lives of believers

You may have the witness of the Spirit that your ways please God. This is obtained by believing in the Word of God, by appropriating that Word to your own soul. This is eating the bread of life, and this will bring eternal life. Compare scripture with scripture. Study the representation of the life of a true Christian as delineated in the Word of God.
The law of God is the great standard of righteousness. This the apostle declares is holy, just, and good. David says, "The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul" (Psalm 19:7). Christ says, "If ye love me, keep my commandments." . . . "He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him" (John 14:15, 21). This is most assuredly the witness of the Spirit. . . . "If ye keep my commandments"--from the heart--"ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love" (John 15:10).
Those who are obedient to the will of God will not have a hard and miserable time in this life. Hear again the words of Christ: "These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full" (verse 11). This is the witness which it is the privilege of all to have--the joy of Christ in the soul through appropriating the word of God . . . and bringing the requirements of Christ into the practical life. There is full assurance of hope in believing every word of Christ, believing in Him, being united to Him by living faith. When this is his experience, the human being is no longer under the law, for the law no longer condemns his course of action. . . .
To them that believe, Christ is precious. His Spirit moving upon the mind and heart of the believer is in perfect agreement with that which is written in the Word. The Spirit and the Word agree perfectly. Thus the Spirit beareth witness with our spirit that we are born of God.
