Herbal supplements?

I was told that you should not take them during pregnancy.

Why is that?

That's actually not true. There are many herbal supplements that can be very beneficial to your baby. But this not a time to play around. If you want to you should find an herbalist and always consult your caregiver. Never take something you are not sure of. I went to a midwife so I took many herbs that were very helpful and had a very healthy baby. Good luck!

The reason is that some of them can cause toxic issues with the fetus, or cause you to go into preme-labour. Check with your doctor, and if you are taking pregnancy teas in leu of coffee or greentea (you should NOT be drinking this!!!) get the doctor to check the ingredients too.

Most preg/teas contain camomile and raspberry leaves, which are potentially harmful (red raspberry leaves can cause uterin contractions!)

Have wholesome food , plenty of milk, green vegetables including greens occasionally, fruits, plenty of water, if you are a meat eater, every thing in moderate proportions is good. Avoid smoking, too much of coffee, say no to drugs and alcohol...........mild exercise ,regular walks........you will be just fine
