Sure I have. I was in an expensive restaurant in NYC having lunch in a Greek place and was enjoying it until I guess something got stuck to the bottom. When I took a bite, I knew right away something wasn't right. Instead of spitting it out, I swallowed it. I kept tasting it the rest of the day.

Sure. But most of the time you should be able to discreetly dispose of that untasty item into a napkin or tissue. Even if you at least pretend to cough and then spit the item out. In the worst case, use your hand and then place in your pocket.

Yes, one time we ordered a venison appetizer and it was bloody raw, but the chef was standing right over us so I pretended like it was fine. I really wanted to gag and spit it out in my napkin.

YES! I went to my friend's grandmother's house and she made home-made sauce for the pasta. I put it in my mouth and nearly gagged. It was made with lamb. (I HATE LAMB!)

I actually ate a bit of it and made a big deal of the bread and salad.

I told her everything was delicious and on the way home, made Tony pull over so I could throw up.
