Why won't TNT or ESPN broadcast an exciting team like the Hawks?

I would love to catch a Hawks game on ESPN instead of the Heat games they keep playing. Miami is the worst team in the league and ESPN is showing them all the time. Let's see a Hawks game. Let's see a Bobcats game. Televise a game when they're playing a team like Phoenix or Detroit. I'm sick of the national;ly televised games being the Spurs, Suns, and Lakers. I've seen more Nuggests games this season then I ever care to see again.

The Hawks, New Orleans, Portland, and Washington are winning games with young and exciting players that we never get to see. To say that there is no market for them is a self fulfilling prophecy. No one wants to watch these teams because they've never seen them. If a Hawks game were on TV this season perhaps people would like to tune in and see more of them.

Okay, look all of you are saying that the Hawks suck, dont know what your talking about I agree with KingSteve . WE ARE TIRED OF ALL THE SUPERSTAR GAMES COMING ON!!!!!! We have had enough of Kobe, Lebron, Nash, and whoever else!!!! Oh, and the Heat, come on people the Hawks are doing better than the Heat so why dont they show that instead. Also the Hawks have beaten some of the best teams in the league, so dont say they suck!!!!! They are a young team that is improving. So as I said before, we are sick of all the supertstars!!!!!!!!! Oh and also maybe the reason of Joe Johnson not being popular, is because everyone is 2 worried about waht Lebron is doin or Kobe. Get over them, the Hawks ARE EXCITING!!!!!!!

Yeah it is kind of strange since the TNT studios are in Atlanta lol. Anyway I wouldn't mind seeing a few Hawks games on national TV. Josh Smith does alot of sick dunks and blocks, but on the other hand Joe Johnson...He's one of the most underated players in the league and can put up stats but the problem is he really isn't the exciting type of player to watch. All he does is shoot jump shot after jumpshot I never really see any dunks or fancy moves comming from him.

I believe it's pre-determined and paid for before the season starts. That is my guess, like for instance at the beginning of the year TNT/ESPN probably expected the Heat and Bulls to be good, exciting teams... yet they've both been disappointments playing ugly basketball lately. But you still see them on TV alot. I agree with you, I'd like to see more of the Hornets and Blazers myself... if you can get NBATV it is a network dedicated to NBA and is much better than NFL network.. There is a decent game on almost every night. worth the dough if your a die hard b-ball fan

Luckily we have a deal with the kings where every game is broadcast to us no matter if its home or away and its also in High Def. Watch the Kings in the playoffs this year. Guaranteed!

Those games are all scheduled before the season starts. coming into the season at least I didn't have high expectations of the Hawks.

I agree with you, but they usually decide before the season begins who will have National Air Time that upcoming season, and they base it off that prior years performance. So expect to see them a little more in the 08/09 season. (You see how AI has helped the nuggets get more air time)

Because if you don't have a superstar they don't play your games nationally. Joe Johnson is a great player but not popular.
