I have stayed at the Pop Century resort, the All-Star Movies resort (another value), as well as some of the moderates and deluxes and I will tell you that you are going to have a great time. The Pop Century is the newest value resort on Disney property and it is really something. The rooms are on the small side, however there is a great food court, huge pool, and the decor and themes are outstanding! The Pop has an advantage over the other values too. Pop has it's own bus line to and from the parks, while the All-Stars share a bus service. Trust me you will love the stay. I went to WDW on my honeymoon 15 years ago and we had a GREAT time.
If you want some more good info and some candid pics of Pop and the rest of Disney I would suggest the disboards. The disboards is a message board website all about going to Disney. You can get some great advice, tips on avoiding crowds, resort reviews, restaurant reviews, trip reports, and much more. I check it out quite a bit before I go to Disney (we are going in March and I have been on it at least 4 times a week!) I put the link below.
Have a great trip and congratulations!!

It is a value resort, so that is important to remember. We have stayed there on two occasions, and were never disappointed. Our first four trips we stayed in much more expensive hotels, the kids were small and we needed things to do during the youngest ones nap times and the older children were not feeling let down being at the hotel. Since the kids are older, we spend little to no time at the resort and have moved to the value resorts without regret.
Here are some recommendations: use the dining plan you will save a fortune, schedule meals by calling 1-407WDWDine to see what is available. Purchase a refillable cup at the resort, it will save you also. When you purchase an item it can be sent to your hotel free of charge.

If you're a thrifty traveler, you may want to bring an ice chest and some groceries, to pack a some apples and meal bars to take into the theme parks with you. Food prices at WDW are sky high.
Splurge on the Luau at The Polynesian Resort and then watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the lake shore behind the hotel. It's very romantic. Be sure to bring a blanket to sit on.

I stayed there last august and LOVED it. It is by far the best of the value resorts. The cast members are all very friendly and efficent. The food court had a very nice variety and the pools were well themed. I loved all of the details at it. The bus wait were the best of all the value resorts and seemed to have the most buses running. I never waited for more the 10minutes for one and that was at park closing. I also loved the towel animals. This is where my family stays whenever we go back to one of the value resorts. check out allearsnet.com for great pictures and facts.

I wouldn't stay there for any kind of special occaision. The atmosphere is not very unique at all. It's basically an overpriced Days Inn. But if you have to stay at a value resort in Disney, it's ok. Not even close to one of my favorites though. The Swan, Caribbean Beach Resort, Port Orleans, Polynesian, and Grand Floridian are all very nice.

I have clients that have stayed there in the past and prefer it to any of the Disney resorts. They have a family of 5 with kids ranging from 7-15. This year, they asked for it by name!

I stayed there last April. I go to Disney every year and Pop Century is the BEST value for its price. I strongly reccomend it. They also have free shuttles to the parks which is an added bonus.(all Walt Disney Wold Resort hotels have the shuttles)

It's a fun place. Great Disney feel and atmosphere. For two, the rooms are perfect.
