Battery and Brake light come on?
I have a Mitsubishi Galant and replaced my battery and alternator in the past few days. When I start the car everything seems fine until the car actually warms up and the RPM drops right below the 1..When I rev it to about 2000 the lights go out...Should I take the chance of driving it up to autoparts and getting it tested or take it out and just bring it in..I'm hoping they didn't give me a faulty alternator..Please help :(
of course "the 1" means 1000......

MAIN problem: the alternator is not charging the battery, therefore, this drains the battery. A battery can operate a car at least 90 mins even the alternator is not charging it. OR the connection of the battery to the alternator is frayed or disconnected.

When your saying the car drops down to 1 are you meaning 1000? Cuz your idle should be around 700 rpms. If it's having problems idling I would look into getting a tune-up and a fuel filter changed. That should help the idle but I would have that alternator checked the volts shouldnt be moving

Your idle speed is set way too low, and that may be what burned out your alternator, by making it work too hard. There is no reason not to drive it to your dealer. I believe that it should be set around 1500 rpms depending on the specifications of your car.
