Help with Twinkle's Big City Knits Measurements?

Hi! I recently bought Twinkle's Big City Knits (lovely book), and the largest sizes listed for busts in the majority of the sweaters hover around 30-33 inches. I am definitely bigger than that in the bust, but not a whole lot bigger. These are all sweaters knit on big needles using chunky yarns. I am trying to determine (before I start) how much if any I will need to alter the patterns to fit my body.

My questions are:

-Has anyone else knitted patterns up in this book?

-Have you found that the bust measurements were relatively strict (e.g. you have a 28" or 30" bust, made the appropriate pattern, and there isn't much give/room)?

-If you could do something different with the pattern, what would you try to improve (e.g. wider shoulders, longer sleeves)?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Update:

Thanks for the notes, but I do know how to extend patterns. I am curious about the measurements in the book, and how the expected (pattern) fit meets with women's (actual) measurements of the same.

you can add more stitches on. for example if the row gauge is 3 spi (stitches per inch) then what you do is multiply. 3* your bust measurement plus 2= how many stitches you should cast on with the extra 2 stitches being the seaming stitches.

but if the sweater body is made in two pieces then you take 3* half of your bust measurement+2 and that is how many stitches you cast on for the back and front.

to make longer sleeves. lets say that the sleeve length is 16 inches and your arms are 19 inches. here is how you change the sleeve. i learned this on knitty gritty.

you will have to give me the sleeve measurements so i can help you resize them. as for the shoulders Ive never had any problems with the shoulders not being wide enough.

I actually found that the main measurements are bigger than 28" or 30" that book sounds like its for petite women.
