  • What's the difference between Orange and Blue Curacao?

I've discovered some great tropical drink recipes, but I've gotten confused on one point. Some recipes call for Orange Curacao, while others specifically call for Blue. I've noticed a bit of a price difference between them as well.

Aside from the difference in price, and sometimes drinking something that is an unappealing shade of green when all is said and done; is there any real difference between Orance Curacao and Blue Curacao?

    Thanks for your answers!

  • Can anyone recommend a good carrying case for my Wii plus accessories?

    Hello everyone,

I'm travelling for Christmas, and wanted to take my Wii -and- accessories with me.

I've read about several carriers, and seen some in-store, but they only have room for 2 controllers, or (in the case of the Intec Pro) have a very tight fit or won't accommodate more than 2-3 games.

Bonus question: I'd like to be able to find something (pie-in-the-sky ideally) that would allow for a few GameCube accessories. While I probably won't take more than 1-2 GC controllers, it would be nice to know I could cram them in somewhere, along with a memory card. It's not the end of the world, but it would be fabulous.

Does anyone have a good experience with a Wii Messenger Bag, Backpack or Carrying case that will hold EVERYTHING I need to play with a total of 4 people?

    Thanks for your advice!

  • How do I keep chocolate from burning in the double-boiler?

I've been working with some holiday candy-making, and wanted to add a nice chocolate shell (coating) to my truffles. However, when I melt chocolate in the double-boiler, I can usually only get 4-5 candies coated with chocolate before the chocolate gets too hot and begins to burn (thickens, starts to change texture and smells).

I am melting in a double-boiler, and once the water begins to get hot, I turn it down to the lowest setting.

What can I do to keep the chocolate workable and melty without getting too hot? What temperature does it begin to burn at?

    Thanks for your help!

  • DDR Hottest Party, Opinions?

I have never owned (or played) DDR before, but after having a lot of fun on Wii Fit with the Advanced Step, I was left craving a little more step-action, different routines, and a longer stretch of activity.

I decided to take a look at DDR: Hottest Party, and the reviews have been lukewarm at best. I also know that there is a DDR: Hottest Party 2 coming out later this month.

If you've played the Wii DDR, how well do you like it? Does anyone know if there is improved functionality for the sequel (like not having to reset your preferences every time you play)?

I am having trouble deciding if it is worth the plunge to

    1) Get the game, or

    2) Wait and get the sequel instead.

I don't have any other consoles, and am not willing to go buy a PS2 for "better" DDR play.

  • Ideas for a Wedding Gift (Sibling)?

My only sibling is getting married soon, and the happy couple has not registered anywhere for gifts.

They have a fully functioning household, and so most gifts given would either be duplicates of things that they have, or frivolity.

Our family has thought about giving them a honeymoon, but they have one planned already.

Unfortunately, I'm a bit stumped on Wedding Gift Ideas.

They're a hard-working, socially-outgoing couple who enjoy the Great Outdoors (but already have camping and boating equipment!).

I would feel a bit silly getting them something that they don't really need or will be replaced in a few years (electronics, namely), and I am against giving money.

Any experience or ideas would be very helpful.

  • How is this not voter fraud?

I recently heard about Steven Ybarra (California Superdelegate, Democratic Party) who has announced he will vote for whichever candidate gives him $20 Million to fund a project of his to register immigrants in the Four Corners area of the United States.

While I agree that we (as a country) should have as many eligible voters out there registered and given lots of information about the candidates so that they can vote their consciences, I'm confused on the point of exchanging a Superdelegate vote for $20 million.

How is this a legal move?

Isn't this considered voter fraud because he's selling his vote to the first party who will meet his demands?

  • Do you feel this is an honest assessment?

I heard about a segment on NPR recently, and followed it up by reading the article it had discussed. What was it about? Young men in today's society.

I have long been interested in gender roles and differences, and wanted to get the opinion of both men and women on this article.

Do you feel that the author is on the level, partially correct, or wholly incorrect?

  • Help with Twinkle's Big City Knits Measurements?

Hi! I recently bought Twinkle's Big City Knits (lovely book), and the largest sizes listed for busts in the majority of the sweaters hover around 30-33 inches. I am definitely bigger than that in the bust, but not a whole lot bigger. These are all sweaters knit on big needles using chunky yarns. I am trying to determine (before I start) how much if any I will need to alter the patterns to fit my body.

    My questions are:

-Has anyone else knitted patterns up in this book?

-Have you found that the bust measurements were relatively strict (e.g. you have a 28" or 30" bust, made the appropriate pattern, and there isn't much give/room)?

-If you could do something different with the pattern, what would you try to improve (e.g. wider shoulders, longer sleeves)?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

  • Where do you limit curse words for kids?

Some people consider cursing to be just the major social no-no 4-letter words, but I have met parents who also believe that "crud" and "shoot" are curse words because they mere substitutes for those aforementioned 4-letter words.

Where do you draw the line? What words are acceptable in your household, and what words are pushing it?

  • Coping with Married Friends?

Quite a few of my girl friends have gotten married over the years, and I would like to still be there for them, go out and have coffee, attend craft circles like we used to, but none of them "have time" for that anymore.

Most of the time I get people's voice mails when I call, and emails often go unanswered for weeks. I understand I'm a very tech-oriented person, but is anyone really that busy?

I've always been of the belief that if something means enough to you, you will make time for it.

None of them have children yet, so it's not a matter of childcare.

What are some ideas for getting married couples or just married women friends to get out of the house and hang out?
