Ideas for a Wedding Gift (Sibling)?

My only sibling is getting married soon, and the happy couple has not registered anywhere for gifts.

They have a fully functioning household, and so most gifts given would either be duplicates of things that they have, or frivolity.

Our family has thought about giving them a honeymoon, but they have one planned already.

Unfortunately, I'm a bit stumped on Wedding Gift Ideas.

They're a hard-working, socially-outgoing couple who enjoy the Great Outdoors (but already have camping and boating equipment!).

I would feel a bit silly getting them something that they don't really need or will be replaced in a few years (electronics, namely), and I am against giving money.

Any experience or ideas would be very helpful.

I like giving really nice wind chimes as wedding gifts.

I don't know... I just see a certain special symbolism there.

Life (wind) bringing together bells (people) in a beautiful sound...

Get them some perks during their honeymoon. Pay for an evening out, drinks and food on you. Pay for a tour or sightseeing expedition. They may already have the location and hotel and things like that picked out, but they probably don't have every minute planned or every meal chosen.

Or you can get them things they will use on their honeymoon. Like sandals, beach towels and sunblock if they're going tropical.

You can also do something like this: Get them a bunch of recipes for dishes that aren't too commonly made in their home, or exotic recipes from foreign countries. Then get them something to make the food with, like a Wok if they don't have one to make fried rice.

howa bout something for the house or yard since they like outdoors like a nice nech with thier wedding date on it or plants or trees- for the yard.

You can get then a gift certificate for a camping store or marina store, you always need more stuff for that.

Pay for a repair or revonvation for the house (the whole family can do that together)

Pay for an additional activity or dinner on thier honeymoon

Just because they have the honeymoon planned, doesn't mean you can't buy them a weekend getaway somewhere. You and your family can all pitch in together--and plan it for 6 months or so after the wedding. It would be something that they would always remember, and who would turn down a second mini-vacation! :-)

    Good luck!

why don't you get them a baby crib or something for their future child. maybe you could ge them a gift certificate somewhere like target, and they can buy what they need from that card. do they have an HD tv? nice home phones? i'm sure there is something that they don't have in their home that you could get them. do they have kitchen suplies? my parents have been married for 20 years and they still have dishes and kitchen stuff (like a crock pot, pots pans, china, glass cups ect.) that we use every day. do they have cute decorations? you could get them lots of gift certificates to differen't resturants or clothing stores. of maybe you could buy them a trip to disneyland. do they have a house or an apartment? if they have a house do they have patio furnature, or nice yards? good luck finding a gift, i hope i gave you some idea's. and it doesn't hurt to ask them what they want.

My husband and I were given a journal that we write in alteast once a month. It is a great way to document your relationship in the early years.

We have been married for 6 yrs and it is neat to read what we have written. What a gift that would be for their future kids to read one day.

Our parents have them, and it is great to see your parents have gone through the same things as a new couple as you.

Why don't you buy them a gift card to their favorite outdoor sporting store in their area? Or, if you know where they are going on their honeymoon put together a care package for them (i.e. sunscreen, flip flops, cute things like that).

Why don't you get them tickets to a play or concert and a gift card to their favorite nice restaurant?
