If the Teaching of Evolution in Public Schools hasn't Decreased the Frequency of Violent?
secessions from the Union, then what has? Back before Evolution was taught in public schools, we had a horribly violent Civil War. How on Earth can you otherwise account for the drop in violent civil wars we have had since Evolution began to be taught?

Regional trends show a negative correlation between crime and teaching evolution. Other developed democracies accept evolution to a far greater extent than the United States and have lower homicide rates, juvenile and early adult mortality, sexually transmitted disease infection rates, teen pregnancy, and abortion rates (Paul 2005). In the United States, southern states tend to emphasize creationism more, but they also have generally higher crime rates.
Correlation does not imply causation. Since the teaching of evolution, death rates from most cancers have decreased, air travel has increased, and the earth's temperature has risen, but we do not attribute any of those to teaching evolution.
In the United States, at least, most people do not believe evolution. If social ills follow from belief about origins, creationists deserve more of the responsibility.

Evolution did not put a man on the moon!! Evolution has nothing to do with civil wars not going on in the united states either. They didn't have cars back in the eighteen hundreds. Maybie cars are the reason for no cival wars.

Hi,
The problem with stats at times is you can shoe horn them to fit any agenda. At the same time religion was being dropped from schools, evolution taught more, you had many families having bothe parents in the work force with less time at home for rearing the children properly. Bad parenting is not great for a child's education and to add insult to injury, corporal punishment was dropped along with discipling the children, rediculing them in the class etc.
In other words, many factors could be responsible for violence.

I just passed gas and it smells different than one from yesterday, do you think this has something to do with rising petroloeum prices?
Seriously, the teaching of evolution has not even a remote eschewed relationship to violence. What about the recent war in Rwanda? Hmmm? Have you ever heard of "Confirmation Bias" ? This is where people only "confirm" information (evidence) which supports a certain objective and discount any evidence which detracts from the objective hypothesis respectively.

Did you know that is was Christians that ended slavery? I just saw an answer from a fundie about that.
I think in the US we have to thank one man, Abraham Lincoln for ending slavery.

What about the wars the U.S, has been in since the civil war? What about wars in other countries, some including Christians and people of other faiths?
Your argument doesn't make any sense.
