When looking at MGF convertibles, what does VVC stand for, and what does it actually do? Is it better?

I'm considering buying a second hand MGF, but I'd like to know what VVC is first. Thanks!

VVC stands for variable valve control and is a type of variable valve timing which varies the time that the inlet valves open and close depending on engine load. It provides quite a good perfomance advantage in the MGF and is relatively robust, though can be expensive if it goes wrong. If you had a choice between an MGF with or without VVC, I'd go for the one with it.

As before variable valve control other points to look for are any water leaks inside the car they suffered badly from water ingress from various points check the mats etc are dry.

    Two points.

    1) If it has around 40,000 miles on the clock it is due to blow its head gasket - EXPENSIVE.

    2) I had an MG TF for a while it's crude and outdated. Unless you want that shape buy a Mazda.
