I have had a problem set for me to solve. Trouble is, I don't know the EQUATIONS to solve the problem. I cannot find them anywhere. Even google seems to be getting confused by what it is I'm looking for. Below is the problem. Can anyone help me by letting me know the equations for each part. The answers I'm hoping to arrive at by myself (otherwise I'm being lazy, and I do want to learn!)

A pedestrian is hit on a pedestrian crossing. Measurements show that the pedestrian had walked 4m from the start of the crossing before being struck by a car. (Assume the pedestrian's walking speed was 1.2m/s)

Police measurements show that the car skidded 20.4m before hitting the pedestrian, and came to rest a further 25.6m beyond the point of impact. The driver claims that he was travelling at less than 50mph (80km/h), and that the pedestrian came out of no where.

Using that above information, calculate whether the vehicle was travelling less than 50mph, and investigate the driver's claim that the pedestrian came out of nowhere.

I set up XBox Live for the first time recently, and in doing so created a new profile on my XBox (I don't know why it didn;t offer to use the one I already had..) Because itwas getting annoying signing in and out of profiles when I went from single player and signed onto the Live account, I deleted my original profile - it wasn't set up with Live anyway, and didn't serve a purpose - except for all the achievements and the associated points, and game saves etc..

How can I get all those achievements and game saves to show up on the newly created profile.

Its the same XBox, the same games, and its still me - I just cannot figure it out!

I've put the green, blue and red HD cables into the back of the tv - the picture is amazing, but there's no sound.. Any clues?

I got caught speeding at 91mph in a 60mph.. The Police Officer was using a hand-held speed-gun.

He told me I would be summons to court. What is the likely punishment they will give me.

I have a perfectly clean licence. I have never been in trouble with the police.

I have been with my girlfriend for nearly 9 months. I am in love with her. However, for the last 2 or 3 months we have been having more and more frequent arguments, and it has come to the stage where despite my love for her (and I know she loves me), where I wonder if we are right for each other. I'm no longer sure if she is the one.

I'm not stupid. I'm a 22 year old man. But I feel I need other people's thoughts and opinions on this one. Its beginning to really get me down.

Should I wait and see if things improve, or should I cut and run, knowing I'll hurt her (and myself) in the process? I'm so confused about it all.

I have a Toshiba laptop. Just recently it's been unable to maintain a mains power connection and switches to battery source, even if all the wires are plugged in. If I continually unplug and plug back in the wire into the back of my laptop, every now and then it'll start charging again for 5 minutes or so, and then just flick back to wearing down the battery.

Anyone have any ideas what this means, and what can be done to fix it?

The majority of the counties in the world have peace treaties, and aren't at war. Why is it, that countries such as Iran and North Korea feel the need to develop nuclear bombs, when there is no threat posed to them from anyone else?

I understand that having nuclear bombs is a form of defence: a last resort to wipe out another nation before they wipe you out. But if in this day and age no country poses the threat of nuclear action or war against your own country, why is there a need to go nuclear?

It is my belief that North Korea and Iran could well be threatening the very delicate stability of the world with their actions, which is unnecessary.

Are their actions purely to be up to scratch with the rest of the world, or do their actions have a sinister reason to them?

Are their actions to improve defence, or add another element to a possible attack?

What are your thoughts on this serious matter?

I'm 20 years old. I've slept with 14 women. But sometimes I wonder what being with a man would be like. I'm naturally a bit camp anyway, but not gay. I'm definately into women!
