I am joining the RAF as a firefighter - what can I expect on a daily basis doing this role? ?

Will I have to train to be ablew to perform another job as well, or will I purely train as a firefighter? I have an interview in February but would like to be more prepared and the RAF website doesn't mention what I am asking here.

Thanks!

Not much to be honest, quite a few tours abroad to the middle east and a LOT of volleyball and hitting the gym. Also responding in over the top fashion to fire alarms regularly. It's a very quiet job compared to civilian firefighters.

I am an Air Cadet and we spent an afternoon with RAF Cranwell's Fire Department and it seems all they do is sunbathe, sleep, play volleyball and get called out occasionally to replace the batteries in the kitchens fire alarms.

Hmmm......not sure mate BUT your best bet is to go to an

    RAF Careers advice centre.

I'm gonna have to be doing this soon myself as I want to join the Royal Navy soon.

Training, training and more training and sky tv.

You are first and foremost a soldier, and therefore would have to be able to defend the interests of the United kingdom.
