Are people on disability going to get a stimulus check???
I know under Obama's plan, people on disability were going to get checks too. Isn't our money considered earned income?
I get a statement of my income each year but of course I make less than required to file.... if we don't get any money that is screwed... we already got screwed out of how they did our increases...
Something I read that says people that don't pay taxes are getting something like 300 dollars. Doesn't that include us?
Hey, I was a hardworking taxpaying person before I became disabled.... and if you want you can trade my disability for your health any time.. I would be the happiest person on earth if I could be healthy and go back to work!!!!!!!!!!
Please email your local congressman and find out.... if enough people do that then maybe we will get some... I know the plan Obama had included us... but I don't know if it got cut out... They say low income people that do not pay taxes are getting 300 to 600 if they have earned income.. I think disability is earned income.. I know if I had extra income I would have to pay taxes on the ssi I get...

Everyone accuses the democrats of being bleeding hearts and wanting to just give handouts. But this is hardly the case.
Rather Democrats believe that we are only as strong as the weakest in our society.
If people at the bottom have no hope they will not strive to make themselves better. So we believe that they need to have a level playing field so that the bottom does not fall out and they tear the rest of us down.
The GOP is led by very greedy and heartless people, even though they say they are compassionate. This is pure nonsense. They have never done anything to show compassion.
They have certainly done nothing to help the poor. And the only reason that they are now concerned about the middle class, with their economic stimulous plan, is because they realize that working people are the backbone of our society.
The Republicans could care less about anyone on disability or someone who cannot afford insurance (even though they work three jobs) until they have a family member that suddenly is fighting for thier lives. Only when it hits them in the pocket books or hits them upside their dense heads will they wake up and see the real world around them!

The news said checks to be sent out about May of this year and the following will receive:
Taxpayers would receive $600 single
If they have a child....another $300
Couples would receive $1200.
LOW INCOME people will receive $300...
No mention of disabled people on Social Security or SSI or Veterans receiving pensions.....
IF they don't receive it.... It will be grossly unfair and another form of discrimination. If the disabled were ABLE to work, they would. They also reported that food stamp and unemployment programs will not receive any funds.

The do-nothing stimulus check, whenever they get around to mailing it out, will have limitations, no doubt.
It probably looks to reward mostly those with lower paying jobs and support households.
It doesn't seem as broad based like the last Bush raiding of the Treasury way back when.
This could lead to protest by folks in your situation.
Believe me, you have all my sympathy because there is no substitute for good health.
I hope it doesn't exclude people like you who only wish they had all their faculties to go to a job and produce.
You might consider writing to your Congressman about this.

That's what I would like to know too.
I'm in the same boat as you are. ($6444 a year)
(Hey! How about that $12 increase they gave us this past month?! Whoo! I can certainly buy that Mercedes ZX-911 I've had my eyes set on all this time...what? You don't want my money? Cheap bastards! lol)

No, the republicans in congress don't feel they are worthy. They prefer to give the money to people that don't need it.

yes, if you pay taxes. Other than that, what is being 'rebate' if you havent paid taxes?

Let's hope not. Democrats = taking money away from hardworking taxpayers and giving it away to others in return for their votes.
