I'm pregnant and having pains that feel like really bad cramps. How do I know if there contractions???

They normally start in the lower part of your back and move to the front. Your stomach gets hard as your having one as well. You need to time yourself. Once you feel them coming stronger and lasting longer, usually 5 minutes apart and last for about3-4 minute. But it's from my own experience to say[not to alarm you] but I never had regular contraction with my first 3 kids. So when I had my 4 I was like, wow, so these are regular contraction. If you think your having them call your doctor and tell him/her whats going on. They are the best to talk to here. But trust me here . When you go into labor, you will know it for sure. Sometimes the doctors might think your having false labor but you might not be. If this happens don't let them make you go home until your comfortable with going. Two of my daughters had this happen to them. It wasn't because they had false labor it was because the nurse didn't have the monitor on them in the right place so it wasn't picking up their contraction well. It looked as if they were having false labor pain. So trust your instants here

Consult some lady doctor or old ladies who has gone through such problames.
