My PC doesn't recognize all of the ram I installed. Why?

I am running Windows Vista 32 bit. The PC came with 2GB Ram, I installed 2 more GB bringing it to 4 GB( as if you couldn't do the math). The system information is telling me only 3GB is installed. My BIOS tells me that I have 4 GB. I understand that my PC's limit is 4GB, I don't understand why it's not utilizing or addressing all that I have installed.

vista has a bug where it can only recognize 3 gigs of ram. I am not sure if there is a patch yet to fix this bug. Until the patch is released you are stuck to your 3 gig limit.

Man that is so weird I have windows vista home premium x32 and 4gb ram and it recognizes 4096mb ram. When I had windows xp pro sp2 32bit it recognized 4096mb ram.

I guess you could ask them for a vista 64 bit disk and install it. It is highly recommended that if you have a powerfull pc that you should have 64bit os.
