Should sportscaster Kelly Tilghman have been fired for her suggestion to lynch Tiger Woods in a back alley?

The silly thing about it is that people are turning it into this "it's only a big deal because he's black" or "plenty of white men were lynched" thing.

That's not EVEN the issue, the fact is saying that was WRONG.

No matter what race he is, saying someone should lynch someone else is like saying "He should be shot" or "They should go in an alley and stab him."

Her "joke" was in poor taste, and not very funny.

But, honestly, it's NOBODY'S business anyway, Tiger didn't even seem to care.

So to all of the people who have nothing to do with it: stop playing the "reverse-race" card.

Source(s): (btw the race card wouldn't be played so often if people wouldn't say stupid sh*t that they know could be taken offensively)

It was an incredibly stupid thing to say, but it should have been forgotten about after Tiger Woods said he wasn't offended. Why wasn't it? Al Sharpton is a f***ing idiot and an enemy of unity and progress in this country. By turning already bad situations into major media catastrophes, he keeps the whole country divided along racial lines. Remember how horribly he handled the Duke Lacrosse rape (false) accusations. That's Sharpton in a nutshell. Take a potentially explosive situation and add Sharpton. He's like an open flame.

What's wrong with the American sports public today? Everyone is so darn thin skinned. It was bad humor which was taken in a serious manner by a bunch of dummies who had nothing better to do. She used the wrong simile. With Tiger out of the way other golfers might just step up and take his place. Nothing racist and no ill will meant. Did they make a big deal when Imus erred? Yes, and it cost him!! Did they make a big deal when the Right all Mighty Reverend Al Sharpton paraded that fake Tiwana Brawley who claimed rape and he went ballistic? Not a word ? Racist ? You bet you!!

Source(s): The sad part of the media making a big deal of Kelly's remark is that the majority are critics who couldn't find their rumps with both hands.

No. She is a relatively inexperienced sportcaster who, on the spur of the moment, made a bad joke that was in no way intended to be harmful or disrespectful. And Woods himself indicated that she is a friend and he took no offense. End of story

Seeing that Tiger is more Asian than Black, no! Not only that, who gave sharpton the right to claim that lynching only applies to blacks?

Sharpton is just looking for an opportunity.

Unlike the annoyingly pc left and their hypocritical beliefs Tiger understands context and isn't blowing this out of proportion. People should relax already this nation are far too wound up an anal about things these days. YA is a perfect example.

No. But if she really likes her media role she should be pubicly inerviewed a few times over time to discuss why she thinks people in her life so freely use such language. And why.

This crap doesn't just come from nowhere. It doesn't just drop out of the sky randomly out of nowhere from a bird flying overhead.

Source(s): The inappropriate thing is to just say oops and continue the media career like it was just a little fart we best pretend never happened. If that's too darned pc for people then I say just fire the dame's derrier and be done with it already. People spend time building their career. Which is why Imus is still on the air (radio). Imus didn't apologize for anything he wasn't actually sorry for. And he didn't ask people to pretend he just let out a small fart and lets quickly ignore it either. If she was indeed embarrased that a verbal slip like that came from her rather than someone else, and is still willing to withstand continuing such a public career, I call that courage. And it is more useful than just popping the reject button. Unfortunately, in Christianized english the phrase "I'm sorry" often doesn't imply "I should probably change something a bit here". It just means "please don't hold me responsible". Otherwise "I'm sorry" wouldn't sound like it comes from the same place "Oh, bless their hearts." comes from. "Jesus loves you" is not supposed to become something you have to wonder is meant sarcastically. I'm not joking. People get really tired of this nonsense. At some point it's just not cute anymore. (As if it ever really was.)

I think Tiger should have been allowed to determine what happened to her. HE was the one spoken about, HE was the person to be offended - if anyone was to be offended.

Tiger is an adult - why take the power away from him to act like an adult?
