My husband is a decorator and charges £100 per day, rates vary throughout the country..£150+ in London and the south east less in the south west and here in south yorkshire my husbands rate seems to be about average for our area.
I hope this is of some use to you, good luck..

ask for a full quote for the completely finnished job as an estimate is exactly what it says it is a rough idea of the cost but is not a fixed agreed price and you may well be charged extra once the work has begun and it can be really difficult to get another person to take up where somebody else left off i just had some work done paid for it in full and this morning three weeks aftrer completion the chap hit me with a bill for materials which were originally included in the price and even asked me to pay his fuel costs to get to the job,he was not very pleasant and i was alone with children so i paid the extra 80 pounds to get rid of him so get it in writing and make sure what is or isnt included, you dont want to be stung for overalls and paint brushes or paste or anything else
