Tickets for Cirque de solei run from $99 each on up, and the Legends Concert is 39.95 each, lets not forget the tax. You might find a deal at the half price show tickets...but that can be hit or miss....
here is a web site for locations in Vegas to get the tickets, cheaper you need to buy that day for shows that night...first come first serve

If you are up to it, and you will be offered, you and your wife can go to sales pitch where they try to sell you time shares, if you are good at saying no and want to waste 4-5 hours you can usually get a couple show tickets and a free meal out of it.
If you end up buying full price tickets to your shows by the time you but the tax on it, you are looking for around $350 of your budget.
If you are staying on the Strip and don't have a rental car you are stuck eating on the Strip, the cheapest Buffet that is edible as far as price I think is the Sahara, I am not sure if they still have coupon books but check it out, even if you have to sign up for the players club card take advantage, do that in every casino if you trying to go the cheap way and take advantage of those coupons. There is a Burger King on the strip, and Hamburger place inside the Imperial Palace that might save a few bucks.
Remeber bottle water, or soda cost in Vegas, more expensive in the Casinos, you can get cheap water and soda in places near the Hawaiian Market Place. Take back to the room and take advantage of the ice machine.
For travel on the strip the cheapest route is the bus $5 for 24 pass, or you can use the Monorail which I think they still have a special of $9 for 24 hours, that is per person. You don't need passes for every day but depending on what you want to do and how much you want to save your feet you need to fiqure that in to your budget. Just because you can see a Casino from another, its farther then you think when you start walking.

if you plan on gambling at all, money goes quick...if you can stick to a budget of what you want to gamble each day, you can fiqure that in...but $20 in a slot machine can be gone in 5 minutes. You get free drinks while you are gambling just remeber to tip.
Eat on the cheap....even those $9.99 steak dinners remeber tax and tip, and if you even have a soft drink that is extra. For 2 people your bill with soft drinks can reach almost $30 plus tip.
If you are a morning coffee drinker, and there isn't a coffee machine in your room, its either gamble and get the free coffee or pay around $3 for a cup....the $3 might be cheaper.
Soda in most machines in the hotels are $2.
Once you have paid for the shows you have $650 left for 5 days thats $110 for the both of you. If you budget even $20 a day each for gambling which is about 5 minutes you are left with $60 for food and either the bus or monorail. Just something to think about.

It's all up to you. You can eat a meal there for $4.99 or $499. It's a crazy place. Shows there can be pricey, especially if you are not a gambler who will get complimentary tickets from a casino. There are a lot of coupons and deals like that around if you look. The really premium shows are not likely to be discounted to the average person. Min of $60 a ticket for those.
Shows and food can be done comfortably for about $100 per person a day if you are limit the nicer stuff (big meal, fancy show) to every other day or so. That is exclusive of gambling money, of course. Adjust that number according to your taste and budget. Enjoy!

How much can you afford to lose? . . . just kidding.
I would take about $1,200 for the two of you. If you've already got your hotel paid for, shows and food can be expensive there, and you don't want to come up short. When I'm planning for myself, I always like to be conservative and plan to save more than I think I'll need. But for some perspective, I spent 4 days in Vegas and spent about $300 without any shows, huge amount of gambling or MAJOR shopping purchases.

1 to 2 thousand, make sure your plane ticket is roundtrip, and keep some $$ put back, I've known several people who fly in on a 8Mil $$ plane, and ride home on a $220. bus ticket!! Food is really cheap-, if you hit the buffets! Ask your motel about food! Everytiime you tack a step, someone has their hand out!
