Help With a a strange looking Wall Outlet / Socket?

I have just moved into a new apartment. The only thing i can see that even closely resembles some sort of connection to a tv is this :

Anyone know what this is?!

Anyone have any idea of what cable i can use to connect to this?

I live in Australia, and the apartment is at least 20 years old.

Thanks!

Interesting, but I can't find anything like it. It could be anything ... TV, telephone, speakers, intercom, ... even a power outlet.

Even if someone recognizes it I would be reluctant to plug anything ito it without testing --- it isn't likely, but what if it's a 240 v outlet? And even if it is for a TV antenna, there is no guarantee it will provide a usable signal.

I'd suggest asking the owner/landlord/supervisor since s/he may know, and may also be able to advise re TV cable. You may have to arrange for an antenna, satellite or cable service.
