1998 Ford Escort drivers side door lock?
Where can I find information about the driver's side door lock for a 1998 Ford Escort? I am going to try to jimmy open my car door, because I locked my keys in tonight. I don't want to ruin my locks, so I'm just hoping for a diagram and/or explanation of how the locking mechanism works for my car.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Don't damage it! It's cheaper just to call AAA and even if you are a non member you can pay them to unlock it for you by inserting a special tool between the window and the door frame to open it up for you. It costs less than installing a new lock!

Dont try unless your a Por lockpicker.. Stick a hanger between the window and Seal and try hook the lock and pull up.. if power locks just flip the power switch with the hanger. Pretend its the claw gam at the arcade

The lock, and possibly the key, will have worn out. A Ford garage can build up a new lock to suit your key, and I'd advise getting a new key cut too, or use the spare one.

BEST THING TO DO IS CALL A LOCK SMITH AND THATS THE BEST WAY OR TRY A CLOTHES HANGER IF YOU CAN GET ONE INTHERE TO OPEN THE DOOR AS MOST CARS ARE HARD TO GET INTO GOOD LUCK THANKS

long wire(coat hanger) pry out lightly on top of door to insert and pull door handle it unlocks itself.
