I have a distinctive username and it torques me to be told it's used.?
My username was bestowed upon me by a friend. In the early days, I would get IMs on AOL from a kid's mom and his friends.
It was my name first and I've had it for almost 10 years. It was stolen on MySpace and now another site tells me it's taken, because I lost connect with the site during registration. If a name is mine, I think it should mine and they should let me have it. Yahoo closed my account and wouldn't let me have my old name, even though I'm the same person.
I've been muppetkiller for 10 years on a variety of boards. I think I shoud be entitled to my own name, yes?

Unfortunately, the name muppetkiller isn't under a copyright, so it's up for grabs for whoever gets it first. Really it's not that big a deal. I've changed my username 4 times in 6 months and use several different ones varying by site.
I think you're a little too attached to that username.
