tax rebate?

If some owes back child support will they still get the rebate or will the goverment take it too like regular taxes?

    Your not getting anything yet...still needs to be approved...won't see checks until June...if then.

    No way to say at present as it has NOT been signed into law.

    Unless Congress includes a waiver for the capture of any debts for child support, don't expect to see a rebate if you owe back child support. That would be political suicide for any Congressman that voted on that so it's HIGHLY unlikely that that would happen, IMHO.

    Like any other answer this is ONLY a guess since the law has not been passed yet. There's a chance that it will never pass, so don't hold your breath until Bush actually signs it and the experts can dissect it to see who gets what or if anyone gets anything at all.

    not sure how this rebate thing will work but it is not really free

    If they give you $800.00 now (or whatever the figure is)

    you will see that figure again during tax time next year
