I'm not surprised. Its the way Big Government politics works. You have a million pages of tax regulations, and on top of that millions of pages of federal regulations that government everything from how many gallons per flush your toilet is permitted to use to how many miles per gallon of gas your car must travel.

The end result is that professional politicians like McCain and Clinton are able to blackmail corporations into making huge campaign donations. To cover their bases they donate to both sides. If they don't look out.
