Going skiing for the first time?
In February I'll go in the French Alps, and I'll ski for the 1st time in my life. Any advice ?

Just come back from the Portes de Soleil on the French/Swiss border and it was great.
I'd say...
-Book a kit package, pass and lessons in advance - they're all cheaper that way.
-When booking lessons, consider booking two consecutive mornings so that you get time to practice what you've been taught in the afternoons.
-Take two lots of gloves so you can let one dry each day while you're wearing the other.
-Try to relax when actually skiing, a relaxed crumple onto snow doesn't hurt, a rigid topple will be less comfortable (though not that bad!)
-Take lots of layers to be able to adapt to many different sorts of weather (snow, rain and sun) - first time I went I was surprised how hot I got.
There's a start!

Relax and have fun, skiing is a blast. Takes years to get good at it.

Well, considering it is your first time ski-ing you are attmepting something rather large, Make sure you have lots of lessons before because ski-ing can be very dangerous.
