Need a title for this Tim McGraw song.?

I've never heard it on the radio, but it's in one of his videos. It's a song about Hank Williams. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Update:

The Ride is definately it. Thanks so much!!

Is it "The Ride"? I' pretty sure he's never released it as a single. But in the video for "Real Good Man" he goes into this song at the end.

I was thumbin' back from Montgomery

with a guitar on my back

When a stranger pulled up beside me in an antique Cadillac.

Well, he was dressed like 1950, half drunk and hallow eyed

Its a long walk to Nashville, would you like a ride, son.

He sat down in the front seat, and turned on the radio

and them sad old songs comin' outta them speakers was solid country gold.

Then I noticed the stranger was ghost white pale when he asked me for a light.

And knew there was somethin' strange about this ride.

    [CHORUS:]

He said: Mister can you make folks cry when you play and sang.

Can you pay your dues, can you moan the blues

Can you bend them guitar strangs.

He said: Boy, can you make folks feel what you feel inside,

Cause if your big star bound let me warn you its a long hard ride.

Well, he cried just south of Nashville, and he turned that car around.

he said: [spoken] this is where you get off, boy

cause I'm going back to Alabam'.

I stepped out of that ole Cadillac and I said Mister, many thanks.

he said you don't have to call me mister, Mister.

The whole world calls me Hank.

    [Repeat Chorus]

    Things Change...

They wouldn't let him play the opry

    With whiskey on his breath

And it didn't take 'em long

to figure out what they missed

He went down that lost highway

    Underneath the purple sky

A legend disappeared before his time

    Things Change

They said he was the devil

    dressed in gold leme

The way he shook his hips

    up there on the stage

    But before that fateful day

    He left Tennessee

All of them were calling him the king

    Things Change

Well they like to call them hippies

    outlaws with guitars

But they brought a little poetry

To the honky tonks and bars

They might've got a little too crazy

They might have flew a little too high

But somewhere somebody's playing their song tonight

    Things Change

    (Don't you know things change)

Now some say it's too country

Some say it's too rock n roll

    But it's just good music

If you can feel it in your soul

    It doesn't really matter

    It's always been the same

    life goes on

    Things Change

    Don't you know they change

    Oh, things change

As long as this world is turning

    Things are gonna change

    Gonna keep on changing

    Gonna change

I didn't know Timmy sang a version of "The Ride".

Figures he would rip off a classic like that.

"You don't have to call me mister-mister..."
