To any fans of Twilight, New Moon, or Eclipse....?

This is going to be long. As much as I enjoy these books, there are many issues I have with it.

I'm not sold on Bella and Edward, at least not as they are. WHAT do they have in common? WHAT do they have to talk about? The crush will fade, then what?

I'd give Edward somebody with personality, and some common ideology. (And preferably already a vampire.)

I really likeJacob. He's easy to like. I did get made in Eclipse where Meyer had Jacob suddenly virtually ATTACK Bella, forcing a kiss on her. It's a far cry from rape, but it is sexual assault. I felt as if Meyer had introduced this near-assault because Jacob had become TOO well-liked, too popular with fans. And Meyer was determined to redeem Edward -- and keep him with Bella -- so she had to do something to make Jacob less liked by readers. Unfortunately, pushing himself on Bella was out of character. I suppose we could say that Jacob is feeling the pressure of convincing Bella because she's going to Turn soon, and he's feeling the pressure of his "wolf" instincts.

I think the problem is that Meyer created a character who's better suited to Bella than her "ideal" match of Bella and Edward. Jacob, and Bella's affection for him, seems real. They're both young, both still somewhat unformed in personality. They're a better match. And that's not from any dislike of Edward. ,

I do like BOTH Edward and Jacob better than I like Bella. Don't really fathom Edward's interest in her. I mean -- what has she got to offer him? Besides her "singing" blood and the fact she can't seem to stay out of danger? Is he one of those men who has to rescue damsels in distress to feel like a real man?

So yeah, if I were to REALISTICALLY pair Bella, it would be with Jacob, not Edward ... unless we can find Bella some reasons for meshing with Edward besides a propensity for danger and a blase attitude to his being a vampire.

YES!!!!! I LOVE Jacob!!!! He is so fun and nice and.....fun!!!!!! Don't get me wrong, I like Edward too, but I like Jacob more. Besides, like the person above me said, Jacob and Bella seem to have more in common and more to talk about. Have you ever read a scene in the book about Bella and Edward actually talking that wasn't about Bella being in danger or something? To be honest I think the person above me deserves the 10 points b/c of her long answer and her reasoning of the situation.

I personally think that Edward is a better choice than Jacob, and I'm glad that Bella chose Edward (I just finished Eclipse). But one of my friends thinks that Jacob is better... idk. Both have their plusses and minuses. Like Bella said... would she rather live without "my sun or my air?" :D I love those books!!

I haven't read the books, but people in my class have, and from I've heard, they like Edward better.
