Do you think they will start a MMA Fighters Union?
Watching tito's interviews i have a strange feeling that by the end of this year we will see a fighters union... clearly they are rather upset knowing how much ufc pays them and how much the ppv events now take in (couture complaints)
UFC only signs long term contracts (fedors reasoning for not being there) and really pays extremely little in comparison to what they bring in...

I do think a Fighters Union will happen eventually, however, I don't think we will see it this year or for the next few years. The sport has become more popular but it doesn't bring the amount of money as the NFL, NBA or Boxing. I think it would happen by the end of the next decade for sure.
As far as long term contracts... the UFC usually has fighters sign a four fight contract. That really isn't long. A fighter could finish that contract in a year and half if they were cleared by the commission and they wanted to.
As far as Fedor is concerned... the reason that he did not sign with UFC is because UFC contracts do not allow fighters to participate in anyway in any other full contact sport. Fedor competes in Sambo tournaments. The UFC wouldn't change that for him so he didn't sign with them.

i dont see a union happning by years end. but maybe somepoint down the line somthing might happen, the key to a mma union suscess would be to get all the champs and #1 and 2 contenders on board without them any attempts of a union will be squashed by promoters like dana white. The reason the UFC makes long fight contracts is to lock in tallent so they dont spend the time and money building up a tallent to only have him split to another promoter once he is a star, as for fedor the main snagging point with him was the UFC not allowing him to fight in sambo torunaments and he also wanted to get contracts for members of the red devils sports club.

I think so, but I also think that the talent pool is big enough that it might backfire on them.
Let's keep in mind that the UFC was losing money in 2005. In business terms, that's not that long ago.
The UFC is growing and has a lot of momentum, a fighters union, happening too soon, could really hurt the league.
