EBAY BUYERS: How long should I wait before leaving negative feedback for seller on ebay?
I bought a dvd on ebay. I didn't receive any email on when item was shipping, since item was shipping media mail (for $5 rip off shipping) I waited 16 days before emailing a politely if seller had a tracking number. No response waited 3 days, got fed up and filed a dispute with ebay / paypal two days ago. My question is how long should I wait before leaving negative feedback? What's fair 21 days? 30? Keep in mind years ago I as a seller had a nutcase started emailing four days after payment badgering me all I did was send her the confirm # each time, but she gave me neg. feedback for item taking 10 days. The kicker is it was only a 50 cent item, which shipped media mail which can take up to 9 days. Now I ship everything 1st class.
Received resolution from ebay, payment refunded, no explanation.
Now question is leave no feedback, pos. or neutral?

I don't think there is a set time for leaving feedback. I try to do everything I can to get a hold of the seller, which is what it seems like you did. If it were me, I'd email them today, as a last resort. I would state simply, "If I don't hear from you, or get a refund in the next 24 hours, negative feedback will be left." OF COURSE you can expect negative feedback from them, because, often, people are immature =/
EDIT: I'd leave neutral feedback ... they could have had some kind of family emergency or crisis. (doubtful, but like to give benefit of the doubt).

I f you have heard nothing for over 16 days, it's past time to leave a negative feedback. The seller has a responsibility to send the item promptly after receiving your payment.

You can always leave negative feedback, but you can't take it back. I would suggest waiting until you are sure what happened. Maybe the seller is on vacation, maybe the DVD was lost in the mail? Check their feedback now, if they have lots of positive, give them the benefit of the doubt. Secondly, they may leave you negative feedback when you don't deserve it. Waiting a few more days can't hurt.

You are well within your right to leave neg. FB right now. Just remember, the seller will hit you back with the same thing. That's the flaw of the e-Bay FB system.
I once bought an item for $1.99 and it never came and seller ignored me, over and over. I filed a complaint, never got my $$ back, and she left FB saying I never paid. That was the only contact I could get out of her. Now, my FB is never going to be 100% again.
Sometimes I wimp out and leave NO feedback, just to not get retalitory negative. You have to decide which you want to the most. Sorry.

I would wait the 90 days (you have at least that long to leave feedback) and then leave a neutral, with an explaination of what happened. If you leave a neg he could and probably will reward you with an undeserved neg of your own.

Personally I would leave negative feedback. If the seller was on vacation then he should have that on his email, automatically telling anyone who emailed him that he is on vacation.
But remember, if you leave negative feedback, you may get it back out of revenge. That happens a lot on ebay.
You may have a very valid reason for leaving your negative feedback, but you may also end up with one on your own profile.
So leave the feedback with that knowledge.

If shipping wasn't specified as media mail then I'd put up negative response now. If it was listed that way and you just missed it, then none is deserved.
