With the exit of John Edwards, does this mean McCain and the Republicans have a lock on the White house.?

With all due respect to the dreamers out their, do a woman and a minority have a real chance to beat the GOP. No matter who the Democratic nominee is, the American public must support them, and hope against hope to reverse the disgrace the past eight years of Bush, not to mention reverse the past 25 years of conservative destruction to the industrial economic base of America. Is there any hope, or is WWIII inevitable.

Yes, they do, you forward thinking knuckledragger....

I can't believe that after the last 7 years of Bush's bad decisions and blatant greediness that anyone would even be considering voting for another Republican. Anyone with any ability for critical thinking will vote for a Democrat.

No one has a lock on anything at this stage. February 5th may define things a bit more but guess what? The election isn't until November. That's a long, long time away. We don't even know how the conventions will go late summer.

That having been said, John Edwards needed to exit. He needs to devote 100% of his attention to his wife and children right now. He's wasted a lot of months here that he shouldn't have. Why he ever decided to put politics ahead of family I don't know. He seemed brighter than that actually.

God Bless John McCain, the dude has more guts in the last segment of his little pinkie than the rest of us have in our body. But he's the only one that can lose to Hilary or Obama. The dude is too old for the job. But I see no economic destruction, we've had one recession in the last 25 years and our economy is the envy of the rest of the worl.

    Nope. It doesn't.

There's not one Republican candidate who has the ability to capture the American people enough to have a "lock" on the White House.

I think it's going to be a close race.

A "woman and a minority" have nothing to do with it. They are rotten despite their gender or race.

I would vote for Condoleezza Rice, most likely. You are incorrect about conservativism, which represents sense and values Liberalism is the plague of the modern era.
