Xbox Live wireless question?
I am interest in subscribing to Xbox Live Wireless, and I was going to have a wireless connection, but I really don’t want to pay $100 for the wireless adaptor. I bought a wireless USB transmitter that you plug into a computer for an Internet connection a long time ago; will that work instead of going out and buying one that cost $100? I have wireless Internet, but we choose to hook the computer up to the Ethernet cable, so if wee ever get another computer we can use the wireless one for that, we haven’t got a new computer, and I don’t see why it would work on the Xbox 360. Maybe I'm wrong, but its worth a try.

You need to buy the Wireless Adaptor I'm afraid. Although it costs a lot, it does the job and there is no alternative. I do recommend looking around for the adaptor on the internet, you may get it cheaper. I got mine with a special offer with my membership.

Well xbox live can be used for wireless and wired. But if your set on playing it with a wireless connection, then your going to need a couple of things.
1.) A Wireless router (such as the Linksys Wireless-G Cable Gateway (WCG200)) wich is a very good router to use for gaming.
2.) The xbox 360 wireless reciever, it costs a pretty penny, but with this you can move your xbox around your house without being restricted by an ethernet cable.
I hope that helps!

XBOX Live is not a 'wireless service'. You subscribe to Xbox live (about $50/year). What you do on your home network (wired or wireless) is your business and does not concern Microsoft.
WIRED is always the preferred AND best route to go, for security and speed.
However, get a wireless router (LinkSys makes a good one for about $50). Then all you need is the wireless adapter that attaches to your Xbox's ethernet port. Setup is easy and works fine. Look the LinkSys wireless adapter as you you don't to spend the extra $$$ on the "Xbox wireless adapter".

No you do no longer, it rather is on condition which you do no longer elect any cords working on your 360. you might have Xbox stay with what you have now even though i could advise getting a router so which you might have your laptop and 360 connected on a similar time. With in basic terms a modem you will could desire to unplug your laptop from the modem and plug your modem into the 360 whenever you prefer to play on stay. sort of a discomfort so i could advise choosing up a router. they are going to run you $40 to $50 for a good one. nicely rather easily worth the money interior the long-term...
