1994 Accord ?
I have a 1994 Accord lx model. Did an oil and filter change but red light still comes on. Not sure why. Oil is fine and has enough what do you think is the problem if anyone can help.
sorry i didn't specify. the light i'm talking about that keeps coming on is the one that has the little oil sign on the left NOT the one that you can change yourself with the key. sorry please respond.

you need to reset the maintenance required light by putting the tip of the ignition key into the slot below the indicator light and pushing in to reset the light. That's the only way the car "knows" that you changed the oil. On that model the light will turn yellow after 7500 miles from the time it was reset as a way to let you know its time for another service. That service is predicated on the normal maintenance routine mileage for that car. If you use the car around town you should change the oil every 3,750 miles and not wait for the light to come on.
hope that helps

"honda guy" is right, that light is for the maintenance not oil change. It has to do with the maintenance schedule that accompanies the car. Just reset it with the key, putting it into the little slot that is next to the light.
