My amp power wire fuse malfuntioning (help)!?

i have an amp which hits hard. instead of the fuse melting and breaking the circuit, the plastic around the fuse melts instead of the thin wire in the fuse. do i need a bigger fuse or a lower amp fuse? any suggestions?

the fuse rating should match the amplifier fuse rating. If the fuse holder is melting.. get a better quality fuse holder and make sure you have the right gauge wire.

Sounds like you need a much larger gauge of wire running to your amp.

How many watts is the amp rated for and what is the total impedance of your speaker load ?

why is it overheating? fuses blowing is a "bad" thing...
