Has Huggies quality deteriorated?
I have always bought huggies diapers for my baby (he is 1 year old now). And have been satisfied with the quality so far. However I bought a big pack of size 3 diapers recently from costco and noticed that the diapers are much thinner this time. The past 4-5 months I have never had to change my baby's diaper at night. He went at least 9-10 hours without a change. But with the new ones, I have to change him in the middle of the night. Has anyone had the same issue? I am thinking about writing to Huggies about it. I'd rather pay a little more than have bad quality diapers!
I don't think size is an issue. The diapers fit him OK. Plus I noticed the poor quality only in the latest pack I bought. Up until now, I have been very satisfied with huggies. May the batch was bad? I will try the night diapers and see if they are any better.

I've tried many different types of diapers and the only ones i like are huggies supreme. they haven't drop their quality that i know. Maybe you are using the wrong size. My girl is 9 months old today and she's size four.
Like everything sometimes you get bad packs...
That happened to me once while i was out of the country. I was in Colombia and i got huggies natural fit and i must have gotten like 7 packs while i was there and one of them was just horrible.
My baby uses one diaper during the night.

I have noticed that Huggies have gotten thinner but you have to think just as maxi pads have gotten thinner and more absorbant so have diapers. Occassionally though you do get a bad batch. It could just be that the cottonlike fiber in the diaper is stretched too thin in the diaper therefore making it less absorbant. I would call Huggies and tell them that you haven't liked that batch and have a diaper or the package near you when you call to give the batch number. They will probably send you a coupon good for a free pack. I also think that the size/ brand of diaper that is best for each child is different. I had a good friend with nonidentical twins and one was a beanpole while the other was shorter and heavier. The beanpole wore pampers and the shorter one wore huggies. But it was worth the price of extra laundry. Just like everything else sometimes you get a bad bunch

I have noticed a pattern with diapers. Any mom I talk to who has a little girl swears by Huggies but myself and other mom's of boys all say that Huggies don't hold. I tried huggies on my son and after a 3 hr nap he was SOAKED. The diaper fit good and was on right it just couldn't hold it. Every mom with a boy that I have talked to says Pampers works much better. My son can sleep 10 hours in one pampers and not have any leaks. I believe that the sex of the baby has something to do with how well the diaper works because of the position of the "output". LOL

Actually huggies work very well for me and i haven't noticed much of a change. My daughter is 11 months and has used them since birth. I have noticed that she needs to be changed more often than she did in her earlier days.. but that due to her eating more and sleeping on her tummy now. Maybe this is the reason you need to change him in the middle of the night. Try using plastic training panties over his diaper only for the night.. just a suggestion.

I have a one week old baby and cant stand the huggie diapers. I dont know what they used to be like but they are awful now. I like pampers.

I don't think they've gotten worse..but have never lasted over night on my 2 1/2 year old...however they do offer an overnight diaper (for slightly higher cost of course) that do last overnight...I'd say diaper to diaper they're still the best on the market imho

Yes, but if it makes you feel better Pampers has dropped quality too. They are all after cheaper manufacturing and not caring about the quality of product. The
huggies supreme are about as good as they get right now, the reg huggies are crap....literally you'll be wearing your baby's crap.....

I think they have.
I switched to Pampers, because my son was leaking EVERY night with huggies, and I kept going up sizes, and it didn't help. They work well throughout the night, but just to make sure I change him Immiediatly before I put him in his crib, after I have rocked him to sleep.

i like you have DEFIANTLY noticed a change in Huggies nappies!!! i use to love them for my 12 week old son coz they were the best quality... i noticed they were thinner at the sides and i thought i had brought the wrong size!! i too have 2 change my son in the middle of the nite, we should complain after all were paying for a service, an expensive service

One thing I noticed is the ink on the diapers (printed) rubs off on my son's clothes. On his pj's especially. He's in teh size 4's now & didn't "leak" at night until he got up to that size. They fit just fine...
