San Jose Sharks picked up enforcer Jody Shelley isn't this a step back from Parker (who they traded last year)

Parker probably is the better fighter but that's about all Parker could do for this team. Everything I've heard about Shelley is that he's a tough player who goes after opponents that take liberties on the teams stars. He's also someone that doesn't hurt you when you use him regularly. Parker was good for fighting but you couldn't throw him out there for more than 10 minutes a game because he just wasn't that useful outside of that area. Apparently Shelley can be put out there for regular minutes and shifts, which means the Sharks won't have to sacrifice a better player in the lineup necessarily.
