Motorcycle Helmet?

No, use an actual riding helmet. They are ment for this purpose--motorcycle helmets are too bulky---stick with a riding helmet---your kids will most likely try to ditch a helmet if it is too uncomfortable to wear... I reccomend a helmet with a GPS Retention System--they offer a more customized fit which is much safer than any old style helmet without one.. Also remember that after every fall or every 2 yrs without a fall the helmet should be replaced as its safety level will decrease over time and after every trauma. Have Fun! BB

Motorcyclist magazine wrote an article about helmet testing (DOT and Snell rated helmets). Some of their findings were pretty interesting and surprising. The models of helmets are a little over a year old, so it won't help you to find this year's models.

I don't recommend buying a helmet on line or thru mail order cause you can't try it on to make sure it fits right. Every brand of helmet fits different even when its the same size.

You can go to ur friendly local motorcycle dealer and try one on then look for the exact same model of helmet and buy it on line at a better price.

You never said what type of helmet you wanted, full face, dirt bike helmet, modular and open face.

A higher quality, more expensive helmet is better at being more comfortable, less wind noise and lighter weight.

It's a lot better to go to a motorcycle dealer or equipment store to buy your helmet. That way you'll be able to try it on and buy a helmet you know fits you correctly. I don't recommend buying your first helmet online, although once you have your first helmet you might order one of the same size from the same company on the Internet.

I bought a full face HJC motorcycle helmet( cl-sp white).They listed it for over $150 but when I called to order it they took off over $10 dollars. I bought white because it is one of the most visible colors and therefore the safest.

Make sure that the helmet you buy is DOT approver.And if it has a SNELL approval it would be even better.

Go to a store, try on some helmets and find what you like. Then go on the internet and get it. Helmets are not like shoes in sizes. One company's med is another's large.

I'm currently riding with a Scorpon and I really like its. I've had HJC's before and I like this helmet much more.

I really like my Scorpion helmet. They are DOT and Snell approved. Plus they have some cool, new ones coming out. :)

Check out these brands, Icon is more spendy but they are higher quality with some good designs.

I bought an HJC mainly because it was cheaper.

Make sure when you are going to buy one that you try some on to get a good size because it needs to be tight on your head for it to work properly.
