Why drug dealers (non-violent) get more time in prison than sex offenders and murderers?

believe it or not!!! Do you agree?

Drugs generate to much money for all people involve in the court process like lawyers, judges etc. etc.

BUT is it fair?

Drug dealers and sex offenders fall into the same class: worthless scumbags and both deserve the same penalty. They are useless and deserve the death penalty. I know this is a little radical but if all drug dealers were dead, crime would drop considerably.

You didn't supply the address or URL you referred to. But it's still a real good bet that it's based upon somebody's loose collection of oddities, rather than any legitimate study.

And spare us about dealers being non-violent. It's not a mom & pop business down on the corner. People try to rip off dealers all the time, and dealers are prepared for it. And other dealers try to muscle in on territory, so dealers are prepared for THAT, too.

So, since you're so concerned about the poor, helpless dealers in prison, why don't you apply for conjugal visitation with them to take their minds off their suffering?

Well it's obvious that drug related crimes give courts and lawyers more money than those raping and murdering. Let me tell you that, this is so hilarious....I mean...

If I were president or someone who had authority to decide in this cases...this is what I would do:

Rapists, esp. minors: Death Penalty or life in jail. We don't need those crazy people out on the streets...

Murderers: You kill, you will get killed: or life in prison..no parole or nothing like that just cause you behave...****... you're in there for good.

Drug dealers: Get old and die in prison....Drugs make people do thinks they should not do, like kill and rape...right.

    they all go together almost.

Anyways...I would not want in this earth, anybody that is not of benefit to the community....What for? costs everybody money.

    Anyways....you decide....

I've yet to meet a "non-violent" drug dealer and I think its reasonable to believe I've had more experience than you have. Most drug dealers are seldom only charged for their dealing, there's the weapons charges, the crimes of violence to keep their selling turf, the sex assaults etc etc

Your source isn't exactly "fair and balanced" either.

In my city most crimes are a direct result of the drug "trade" whether its the violence dealers and gangs, or the random violence of the addled minds of addicts or robberies and thefts to feed the drug habits of junkies.

I remember a case out in California a few years ago, a man caught with 10 hits of acid got more prison time then the man who tried to blow up LA international airport.

That obviously makes a lot of sense

It's not fair but say your selling heroin or meth you are dealing a death sentence so although isn't fair I do understand the want for having these individuals off of the streets

There is no evidence in your statement. Sex offenders get more time as do murderes. Drug dealers destroy numerous lives, and effect the family and economy. They are no better than murderers. They are selling poison. And yes it is FAIR

Its 6 years since this thread was active. Now that pot is legal in a bunch of states and seems to be going toward total legalization, should a pot dealer have been pot in jail for life? So called "legal" drugs sold by big pharma company's have caused much worse problems then pot ever has. So have cigarettes and alcohol.

You're right. That makes no sense. I'm so tired of hearing violent criminals complain about how bad prison is. Its not nearly as bad as it should be.
