Are all these new conditions for real ? ADHD, bipolar disorder, etc. etyc.?
I'm a SPED teacher with close to 20 years experience. I hate so say this but throughout all these years, I have gotten many students with different disabilities such as ADHD, bipolar, Emotional disorder, etc. etc. Every time I'm going to get a new student , I try to get prepared for what will be coming (according to previous study of records ) to my surprise and that of my teacher assistant we have never witnessed any of the diagnosed behaviors. I always tell my students the rules on the first day of school and encourage them to comply with them. ALSO, I let them know that I have a rewards program which I start on the very same day. I don't know if I should call this luck or that all these conditions are only there to make some parents feel better for not doing their work.
What I have observed, many parents can't control their children. Also , they don't want to be bother with doing homework or helping them (not all).
I have a parent who's son is starting to read , and when I told Mom to read al home with him, she got so mad and told me that her son was in Special Ed and didn't need to be push. I never got any homework from him . Same thing happens over and over.
Do these conditions really exist? what do you think?
5 AnswersSpecial Education1 decade agoWhy drug dealers (non-violent) get more time in prison than sex offenders and murderers?
believe it or not!!! Do you agree?
Drugs generate to much money for all people involve in the court process like lawyers, judges etc. etc.
BUT is it fair?
10 AnswersLaw Enforcement & Police1 decade agoWhy does the American Legal System contradicts itself !!!!?
Why is it that our American legal system contadicts itself ,and so many people believe the "system" works?
1) It is illegal to commit murder, but states can justify sending someone to death row.
2) We are protected against "cruel and unusual" punishment, but a convicted felon will ALWAYS be turned away for jobs, Apartments, etc. even after they have paid their dues to society.
3) In divorce and child custody proceedings, the courts claim to seek what is in the best interest of the child. 95% of all child custody cases are in favor of the mothers. How can this system be balanced when the odds are so heavily out of balance?
4) In criminal cases...a ***** is 85% more likely to be put in prison than any other race, yet the goverment has strict laws against discrimination.
5) In American law...it is illegal to extort money from people. Why then can one lawyer charge 2500.00 for a case, but a lawyer across the street can charge 25,000.00 for the same case?(Posted by chance of P)

6 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoWhy drug dealers (non-violent) get more time in prison than sex offenders and murderers?
Is it fair? Something is wrong with the laws they let child molesters and murderes out and keep non -violent drug dealers in prison for very long periods of time.
People should be responsible for what they consume!!
Child molesters have been proven to repeat their criminal behavior time after time!!

Last week, I was very disappointed when I tried to join a demonstration and was told by the police that in order to demonstrate people need a permit or else everyone would be arrested. . Do you think this is right? so people can't express themselves only if they have a permit . Does this sounds right? in my own opinion this is not freedom of speech.

7 AnswersLaw Enforcement & Police1 decade agoLIbby!!So, now people will still defend this America's great equal rights system?
It is a shame that the president is going to pardon Libby and that other people have to do all the time in jail for petty staff
This is proof of how this system is failing middle class and never the less poor people. There is no such thing as equal rights, and it will stay like this because nobody cares until it hits home.

Quien lo derrotara? durara mucho? ojala que no. 4 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoDo all citizens really have equal rights?
Paris Hilton why she is out? I don't hate her , but if she commited an offense she should have paid her debt to society like anybody else!!
Many upper class people have been convicted of major crimes and many of them get a pardon or end up in a prison of their choice where they can get away with many things, others don't even serve time and the middle class people and the poor do little things and get long prison terms. Worst that all, nobody does nothing about it !!! Don't even think about it until it hits home. Is this equal rights?
3 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoHow many Hispanics have been detain for terrorism?
I'm always reading and hearing that the main reason they want to close the borders is to prevent terrorism. They should use another excuse because I have never seen a terrorist from Latin America enter the US via border illegally.
It is my knowledge that terrorists enter with student visas provided by the American Consulates in Europe.
