Area is the amount of space inside a shape. for a square you take the length of one side and multiply it by itself to get the answer.

    1. 14.2*14.2=201.64 sq.meters

    2. 1.5*1.5=2.25 sq.meters

    3. 2.5*2.5=6.25 sq.centimeters

    4. 10*10=100 sq.meters

What the formula A = s^2 means is that if you multiply the side length (s) by itself (^2), you will get the area (A)...so if you take all those numbers that you have and multiply them by themselves, you'll get the area. For instance, the first one is 14.2 * 14.2 = 201.64 square meters
