My car is tuned up good. It starts and idles fine. When I drive it, it goes fine when babied, but if I drive?

normal, when i give it gas it jerks and clunks. It feels like it is coming from right underneath my feet in the rear of the engine compartment. The car jerks and shutters, but when i let up the gas and ease it down slowly, this doesn't happen. What in the world could be the problem? I did a tune up, a new distributor because I thought it might be fuel related or something like that. But now I am thinking it might be the cv joint. I don't know, someone help please. Remember it is a real fast jerk clunk jerk clunck ect. unless given easy gas. 92 Sentra Nissan.

Update:

efi not carb thanks though. i could see it being abrief cut out and motor drop from mount but it dont seem to be that either. this is so weird.

Is it carburated? The symptoms sound exactly like what used to happen to me when my accelerator pump went bad.

There is a rod connected to your linkage on the carb which is depressed when you push on the gas pedal, which causes a shot of gasoline to shoot into the throttle body of the carb. A return spring which slides over the rod is used to return the rod to it's original (undepressed) condition.

If the rod, or spring, or rubber (or leather) diaphram is worn, when you jam on the gas, it will partially work and then NOT, so you will jerk and then bogg down without more gas.

    Check it!

    Possible broken motor mount.
