McCanns: Madeleines body not found in lake ?
We read that Portuguese human rights lawyer Marcos Correia, the man who believed an 'underworld' tip off that Madeleine McCanns body had been dumped in the Barr-agem do Arade lake 30 miles from Praia da Luz, has put his money where his mouth is. Marcos has funded a £1,000 a day searching operation of the lake by UK Frogmen.
While the Portuguese are still searching for Madeleine, Kate and Gerry McCann were last seen in negotiations with US celebrity talk show hosts such as Oprah Winfrey, and also their part in a 'documentary' hollywood blockbuster.
Despite some doubts by the head of the Portuguese PJ Police over the timing of their suspect status, Kate and Gerry McCann remain the MAIN SUSPECTS in the case of missing Madeleine.
Should the Portuguese continue to help at great expense to find Madeleine, or leave the task to Clarence 'McLiar' Mitchell, his string of dodgy amazing memory 'witnesses' and sketches, and of course the two wannabe celebs Kate and Gerry ?

Over interested, curios...maybe he's tapping into the comically sensitive British punters - of which there are millions (and better still...on here 24/7) - as it's only 8.15am, it's early in the morning - but just you wait - they'll be coming out of the woodwork before you can say 'cliche'!

I think that THREEPENNY53 nailed the main issue here.
Once again, the parents behave and react in an amazing manner...That is WHAT we should keep our eyes on.
The fact that the "leave no stone unturned" fund includes the internet, shouldn't keep our eyes from that.
Come on... there's only a bunch of them here, perfectly identified. Their speech is always the same and they even use the same sentences .
Bahhhh... subversive counter intelligence 101. Basic, primitive, childish and... cheap, I'm sure.
As far as the Portuguese effort... Pj agents were crowded on cheap hotel rooms for weeks, sleeping 3 hours a day, without seeing their families and without receiving overtime. At the same time, they were offended on a daily basis by an English press who "knew" all the answers, and vigorously criticized whenever they got too close to the McCanns... a child was at stake. Now as then, the whole nation is ready to contribute for that.
After all, a nation of "stupid sardine munchers" has nothing better to do.
On a funny note... The mccanns are not THAT criticized on the Portuguese press, altough the english media tries to pass on that message... go figure.
Oh... about the timing of placing the Mccann couple under the umbrella of "arguido"...
Forgetting the criative translations that I've seen here (yeahhhhh... the subversive elements...) what Alipio Ribeiro said was that the investigation would have benefited from the presence AND ANSWERS of the McCanns. Therefore, they should have been kept as witnesses a bit more.
But we all (???) understand that they had to flee (yes, flee!).
They confessed to the crime of negligent abandonment. They would've been arrested, put to trial and convicted. No doubts whatsoever. To admit their negligence as they did would've been enough.

""A team of four British and Portuguese divers were carrying out a painstaking search of the reservoir near the historic Algarve town of Silves. Correia insists that he was given a gruesome account of Madeleine’s fate by criminal contacts three days after she disappeared. He says he was told Madeleine had been abducted, raped and murdered before the killer disposed of her corpse.""
And we read that "Last night Kate and Gerry McCann were said to be boosted by the new efforts as the hunt for their daughter entered its 10th month".
Is this just sensationalist journalism? How could any parent possibly be 'boosted' when told that a lake is being searched for their daughter's body let alone the rest of her gruesome fate.

Neither of them are looking for Madeleine.
Portuguese police said Madeleine McCann is not a priority and Clarence is too busy focusing on the McCanns' arguido status to be lifted.

But yesterday it was said on the news that the Portuguese were a little too quick to name the MC Canns as suspects in their missing daughter Madelaine.
I believe there is something odd about this case but Whether they are involved who knows as all we have is speculation like yours with no SOLID evidence at all!
If I were the McCanns I would not want celebrity status But maybe by appearing on these shows (IF they do) such as Oprah then perhaps they are hoping to still find Madelaine. They don;t want to give up on her even if she may be dead. They don;t believe she is dead. I don;t think they will believe she is dead until a body is found.
I am sure i would always want to believe my child was alive if missing and not dead.
As for your question "should they continue to find Madelaine" My answer would be yes!
The only thing we know for certain is that those children were left alone regularly by their parents (McCanns) while they partied away and I am disgusted with them for that. BUT look at what they have to live with! Probably death of Madelaine, Public disapproval and in many cases hatred, having to tell the twins that Madelaine was taken whilst left alone...........

If the child's remains are found the MacCanns will have the potential to make a lot of money, I wonder if there could be a time judged by them, when it would be to their advantage to have her found ?.......or is there too great a risk of damning evidence in the event of this happening ,in that the body or whatever remains could still retain indications of what caused or contributed to her death ?

This is a toughie! They should'nt be made 'celebs' from all this, but at the same time they want to keep it in the 'news' over the years quite a few kids go missing! but very few if any are found, I just feel sorry for the child!

I am in agreement with Tina0611 on this. I think it should be the McCanns who are funding this.
