Why are patriots fans saying they had an undefeated season? They LOST the last game of the season!?

Do you have any proof of this? I haven't seen or heard anything of the sort.

An undefeated regular season since the schedule went to 16 games has never happened until this season. So yes they did have an undefeated regular season. They just didn't win out in the postseason which is what counts. They will go down in the record books as the first team to go undefeated in a 16 game regular season though.

Well the fact that you have to call them "gaytriots" shows that you're immature and ignorant. They broke several records last season, made more impressive by how many they broke, and that they were broken in conjuction with one another. They had a perfect regular season, and came within 2 1/2 minutes of winning it all. I wouldn't consider that a the worse of all time at all. I'm sure the Dolphins would love to trade places with them right now. Fans don't forget the Pats of old. That's why we're so proud of the Pats now. They were a terrible team back in the day, and we had one ray of hope in 96 when we got to the bowl, only to watch it get snuffed so easily by the Packers. Now we've got a skilled team, and it's amazing to watch. Like the guy above said, I'm sure that this year you're a Giants fan, and next year you'll root for whoever wins the SB. If the Pats go 0-16 for the next 10 years, I'll still be a fan.

Because the season ended three games ago. The superbowl is a post season game, along with the playoffs. It does mean something since they are the only team in the history of the NFL to go 18 games undefeated. We don't have this years superbowl bragging rights, but we still do hold a well deserved title for only team in history to go undefeated for 18 games! Thank you
