Who are the enemies of the empire? Might they be willing to aid your invasion attempt?

    greatest early enemy: The Sassanid Persian Empire, followed by Arabian Caliphate, Seljuk Turks, Venetians, "Crusaders" of the 4th crusade, Ottoman Turks.

    the Persians, Turks Persians, , Arabs,...Avars and all who

    wanted to Plunder the riches of Constantine's Greek Byzantine

    Actually the Slavs, though the Empire managed to buy them off, the Persians and Arabs and Turks, the Visigoths and various other Germanic tribe, and in 1215 the Crusaders attacked Byzantium as well.

    Well they did have the Persians and they would bery well be willing to aid the invasion attempt. Also, Carthage i think?
