Yes. I have an over the range microwave that has an exhaust fan. We vented ours, but they do not have to be. I bought mine like three years ago, GE brand, and paid about $300.

They make over the range microwaves with fans and filter built in the bottom of the microwave. You can exhaust it out thru the wall or not, if not it just vents back into the room after drawing the air thru the filter.
