Stop lights not work on 97 Merc.?

Stop lights not work on 97 Merc. Marquis. Bulbs good and fuses are good. The third brake light does work, just not the two rear lights that not work. Any suggestions be greatly appreciated.

    Possibly your Lighting Control Module.

if the 3rd brake light works then you need to replace the bulbs in the 2 not working, 3rd light works means that its not a wiring problem and the brake light switch is good, you need new bulbs

Many new type bulbs will show the elements are good when in fact they have a open circuit due to weak wire that runs on the bulb base.Try a new bulb and see if I am correct.

Make sure that you have the correct bulbs (3157 I believe) and that they are in the correct postion in the lamp housing. I am curious...do you tail lamps light up? How about hazard flahers? Could have a broken wire or loose connector going to that harness.

Burnt fuse, or signal light switch
