The term "quick " in quicksand refers to the speed at which the sand loses its supporting capacity ie. water, mud etc, and then takes on the characteristics of a liquid itself. It does not refer to the speed at which you sink into it.
Guinea pig . . . It is thought that the term 'guinea' may be a mispronunciation of the South American country of Guyana. Alternatively, it could be that when Spaniards called at ports in Guinea on the African coast when returning from South America, and then arrived back in Spain, people thought that the animals had come from Guinea.
Oh yes . . the boxing ring was just a circle of spectators around the contestants before the sport became officially recognised and hence a square was adopted.
Now I'm off to spread some butterflies on my toast.

Guinea Pigs come from South America, where they were known as cavy. They were domesticated there and kept as pets or for research in biology. It is a small furry animal with a tail.

Not Guinea (nor are they pigs). I think they are from the Andes, although they are found throughout South America

it is the main astounding question i've got seen all day. i've got heard maximum of them earlier, yet no longer multi function place. I agree that the English language is surely taken with none attention, and delight in that I in basic terms in basic terms understand the terminology and might use it in daily communication!
