Global Warming, China battling coldest winter in 100 years?

Just posting some recent news of the coldest winter in china in the last 100 years. Adding fuel to the fire that global warming is a theory... (a theory that is failing?)

I'm glad you reposted this again. I missed it the first three times.

Anyway -- China had a cold winter. Canada had the biggest ice melt in recorded history. Who wins? There's hardly any point in me posting here, because the other two replies were entirely right.

I'm just here because if this the Anti-global warming people are going to flood the questions, the least I can do is help flood the responses.

    Oi you fool.

Global warming does not mean that every spot on the map is getting warmer . The world ( globe ) is getting warmer overall , not every inch of it .

Global warming is not a theory , it's a fact . It's measurable and provable . The theory part is whether it's caused by people or just another variation in the weather pattern . There's been ice ages and warm spells throughout the history of the world.

Climate Chaos. China battling coldest winter in 100 years.

Global warming is the proccess, Climate change or climate chaos is the result.

That fire is only in a few peoples limited imagination.

I guess the data from the weather measuring stations in China won't count this year towards the 2008 "global" temperature since it's a "local" phenom...we can't have skewed data, can we? Wouldn't want freak weather LOWERING the average global temp...

FYI: a "theory' in science refers to a body of PROVEN facts. You show how little you know--you don't even know the definition of the word!

As for the weather in china--global warming refers to overall long term trends--not to short-term seasonal or regional variations. Which you would also know if you had any idea of wht the science involved actually is.

Global warming is not a hypothesis--it is proven. Period.

I wonder if you people ever read everything you post....

The China Meteorological Administration said the weather was the coldest in 100 years in central Hubei and Hunan provinces, going by the total number of consecutive days of average temperature less than 1 degree Celsius (33.8 degrees Fahrenheit).

But it expected brighter weather ahead, though fog could become a problem and temperatures at night would likely still be below freezing, slowing the thaw.

"It is still necessary to remain alert for possible low temperatures, frozen rain, snow, freezing and heavy fog," said administration head Zheng Guoguang.

He added the cold snap had caught the country off guard, in an area unprepared for such heavy snow. But climate change could see more extremes in weather in China, Zheng warned.

Did you see the part where the administration head stated "But climate change could see more extremes in weather in China", or did you just tune it out because of your obvious bias?

Global Warming effects means extreme weather conditions where it should not be happening.. Deserts will become wet, Polar regions will become arid, Warm countries will become cold etc.. Scientists have been studying the weather changes for years and they have the scientific proof that there is very unusal weather patterns developing around the World..

its local temps, not global. if this was sustained for several years this argument may have some merit but currently it just a dumb argument.

PS try looking at the global temps over a few years. http://data.giss.nasa.gov/gistemp/2007/

    a nice little animation
